For our March fun meeting, Tucka bee will speak on equipment, safety, FL registration, beeyard locations, options for acquiring bees, common pests + diseases, and good management practices in beginning beekeeping.
She will also bee live at the club apiary on Saturday for a hive dive and inspection demo. Bring your protective gear and an open mind.
Tucka is a treatment free beekeeper with about 150 colonies in NY and FL. She also works part time for commercial queen raisers, honey producers and nuc sellers Mike Palmer in VT and Joseph Redensky in FL. She caught the bug 6 years ago in England and has been buzzing along ever since.
Our District's Apiary Inspector Christopher Alonso will be on-site for this fun meeting and will also be able to register new beekeepers right there and then! ;) Please come by and meet Chris!
