Had a very interesting scenario happen here today. I have two hives, one was populated with package bees, a second Hive was populated via a NUC from a local supplier.
Both hives are at about 50% capacity.... no sign of swarming.
I ended up with an empty NUC which I just left on one of my stands.
This morning at about 10:00 am I noticed it was filled with thousands of bees. Including a queen.
I said wow.... free bees. I gently smoked and place in two frames in the NUC with Wax foundation.
There was already lots of comb inside the box with plenty of honey. So they must have been there for at least a few days.
Went back out at 5:00 pm. Every single Bee was gone.
What did I do wrong???
