I lost 2 of my 4 hives last winter, I think due to inadequate food supplies.  this year I did catch or Remove hives from other locations to get back to last years level but all the hives are low on reserves.  I know we are coming up on the last hurrah for a honey flow when the Brazilian peppers bloom and then forage will be scanty.  Does anyone in our area use candy boards to feed their bees October thru Jan -Feb?  Or is it better to stick to sugar water.
